Moments – Summer’s Embers

It’s that time of year again. When summer has left, predictably but nonetheless suddenly. Something you’ve anticipated the whole year, gone after what seemed like much too short a while.

And autumn creeps in, slowly, with the smell of gradually yellowing of leaves displacing that of lush greenery and mature flowers. You realise that autumn holds a lot of promise and excitement, but it feels strange to part so early with the summer.

It’s embers still glow, languidly, reluctant to go out. You can still feel the warmth of the earth yet the sunshine is not the same as before – a softer radiance replaces the oozing heat.
