Thoughts – Passionate Protests

The thing that is most attractive to me about protests is the way that the people attending them create a sense of solidarity which is too often absent in everyday life.

There’s something inspiring about people standing up for their beliefs and values instead of just talking and complaining about current events. It is always amusing to try and spot the most creative signs and posters, the wittiest remark or the loudest, most charismatic demonstrator amidst the crowd.

In the midst of this ordered chaos you feel a sort of electrifying energy that radiates across the streets, making each passerby pay attention to the cause people are marching for or against.

Demonstrations also bring me a feeling of freedom, especially when the authorities do not get involved but respectfully watch events unfold in front of them.
